Healing Hearts, Rebuilding Hope.
When a child has experienced trauma, healing is possible, especially with the right support. At the Children's Advocacy Center of Central Texas (CACCT), we provide specialized, trauma-focused therapy for children and families, delivered by licensed mental health providers who understand the effects of trauma and what it takes to move forward.
Our Therapy Approach
Every child's journey is different. That's why CACCT offers a range of evidence-based, trauma informed therapies, including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), EMDR, Problematic Sexualized Behavior Therapy (PSB), Family Therapy, and Play and Sand Tray Therapy. Each approach is tailored to a child's age, needs, and unique experiences, helping children and families process difficult experiences, manage strong emotions, and build coping skills.
Therapy is always in a safe, child-friendly environment.
Who Qualifies & What It Costs
Families referred to CACCT receive therapy free of charge. There are no insurance requirements, copays or hidden fees.
We guide families through the process, explaining what to expect at each step and helping connect you with long-term resources if needed. Our goal is to make sure no child goes without support because of cost. Family advocates help make the referral and remain available to answer questions and provide guidance throughout your child's therapy journey.
Continuity and Collaboration
Support for Parents and Caregivers
You are not expected to go through this alone. Our therapists provide guidance for caregivers helping you understand how to support your child, respond to difficult emotions, and take care of yourself along the way. Helping a child heal from trauma often means strengthening the whole family, and our therapy services are designed with that in mind.
Is this really free?
Yes. Every counseling session is provided at no cost, thanks to our generous supporters.
How long does therapy last?
It depends on your child’s needs. Some may benefit from a few sessions, others from longer support—we’ll work with you to find what’s right.
Can parents join sessions?
Therapists may invite caregivers to participate in sessions or separate meetings for guidance, based on what helps most.
