Is a Children’s Advocacy Center a common model?
- There are 60 other advocacy centers in the State of Texas available to
serve approximately 92% of our child population.

What is CASA of Bell and Coryell Counties?
- A Court Appointed
Special Advocate (CASA) is an adult willing to stand up for abused and
neglect children in court. A CASA volunteer is appointed by a
judge to provide factual information on behalf of a child caught in a
difficult legal process.

Who do you serve?
- We serve children ages 0-17 who
have been alleged victims of child abuse or nelgect, are secondary
witnesses and/or have witnessed violent crime?

What is a forensic interview?
- A forensic interview is
conducted for the purpose of investigation and is videotaped to reduce
the number of times a child is questioned during the course of that
investigation.

As a parent, what should I not do?
- DO NOT ask your child
questions or discuss the incident before the interview. DO
NOT ignore your child’s physical well being. Be
sure your child is well fed and rested prior to the
interview. DO NOT make promises to or bribe your child to
tell the truth or withhold information about the events that brought
them to the center.
